Here I am for my first blog post in a long while, and the first of the 2015 season.
2015 will be the first full season for my new space frame car, which was built during the latter half of the 2014 season. It's an absolute monster and this is proven with results on track; at the first BTRDA round at Blyton back in February I finished 3rd overall and 1st in class. This was a big achievement for me and the rest of the team, given that it was one of the cars first outings.
We're still making improvements in both power and handling, so we're hoping for similar (or better!) results throughout the rest of the season!
The changes will be tested both this weekend at the Coventry motofest, and next at Pembrey in South Wales for round 2 and 3 of the BTRDA championship on June 6th and 7th.
As far as the British Championship is concerned, I haven't been quite as successful. During round 2 at Lydden Hill on April 6th, we experienced some problems as the car threw it's belt off twice. I'm sure a change in luck is in store for Mondello Park which is next up, on June 27th and 28th!
As I type, I'm sat in Coventry city centre before the second high profile demonstration run of the car this year (the first being at the live action arena at Autosport International).
Autosport was an insane experience, and hopefully Coventry Motorfest over this weekend, May 30th and 31st, will be the same.
It's a privilege to say that I'll be taking part in the first road closed event to happen in England in a lengthy amount of time!
